A Training Centre For Palliative Care

Dover Park Hospice aspires to be the centre of excellence for palliative care education and research.

Together with the National Health Group (NHG) and Nanyang Technological University Singapore (NTU), Palliative Care Centre for Excellence in Research and Education (PalC) is set up in October 2017 to increase capabilities in end-of-life care in Singapore.

Apart from conducting attachments to undergraduate and postgraduate medical and nursing students, we also facilitate year-round training opportunities for doctors, nurses and allied health professionals to support their professional development. Some of the courses we conduct include Certificate in Basic Palliative Care and Specialist Diploma in Palliative Care Nursing (in partnership with Ngee Ann Polytechnic and National Cancer Centre).

Looking inward, we also pride ourselves on continuously upgrading the skills and knowledge of our staff. Weekly talks and tutorials are conducted to share new insights and developments in the field so our healthcare personnel can constantly elevate their level of care and support to our patients.

Training sessions are provided to help our volunteers better understand our patients and their caregivers, and learn how to care for them.
